The Fawcett Family of Fell End

In Fell End in 1669, twelve of the 43 housedwellers assessed for the Hearth Tax were named Fawcett, and the name also appears in the adjacent parish of Sedbergh. WILLIAM FAWCETT married Janet Todd on 30 July 1698. His wife died in 1717, and was buried on 31 August. In the same year he sold Low Sprintgill to Thomas Hunter.
